My grandfather carved these initials into this Holly tree while we were getting firewood when I was a child. The initials are hard to read after at least 28 years but they are RK, NB, and CK. They stand for Rusty Kiddy (my brother), Nick Baum (my cousin) and Christy Kiddy (me). As a kid I used to wander back in the woods (probably a lot farther than my parents wanted me going) to search for the tree. Now Brooke likes to run ahead and search for it when we go out to get firewood. Maybe one of these days we'll re-carve the initials and add all of Granddaddy Russell's great grandchildren.
