Slowly But Surely Getting Back in the Game!!
Guess what...no one in my house was sick today! It's the closest thing to a miracle that I've seen in a long time. So begins my attempt to catch up. Given that I am slightly obsessive compulsive (okay, so maybe a LOT obsessive compulsive), I can't just start fresh. That would make me twitch and stuff. Nope, I have to catch up completely. To do that I'll be adding a picture from last week's theme (children) to each of my daily posts for this week.
Looking out my back door I see a Live Oak tree covered with moss and lichen. I love this tree.

I love this goofy little smile that is immediately plastered on Rylee's face as soon as she see's the camera.
My waders and fishing rods, drying on the back porch after a successful morning. Maybe I should have posted the picture of the fish that was in the cooler on the other side of the porch.
Excited to see Brooke getting off the bus after school. This look of pure joy makes my heart happy as Rylee would say!

Hidden Letter From Saturday "V"

Well it's about time huh? Yep, I'm behind. REALLY behind. An entire week of caring for sick people kind of got in my way. I cheated a bit on this post too. There are no Spring flowers to take pictures of around here yet. Normally I don't mind the Winter. In fact, I usually like it. This year is another story. I'm ready for Spring. I'm ready to send my children outside to play. I'm REALLY ready to say goodbye to all of the illness that this Winter brought us.

Hidden Letters "Initials"

My grandfather carved these initials into this Holly tree while we were getting firewood when I was a child. The initials are hard to read after at least 28 years but they are RK, NB, and CK. They stand for Rusty Kiddy (my brother), Nick Baum (my cousin) and Christy Kiddy (me). As a kid I used to wander back in the woods (probably a lot farther than my parents wanted me going) to search for the tree. Now Brooke likes to run ahead and search for it when we go out to get firewood. Maybe one of these days we'll re-carve the initials and add all of Granddaddy Russell's great grandchildren.
